The New ChicagoLearningGuide.com Launches!

The new ChicagoLearningGuide.com is here! Chicago's premier source for information on recreational and personal learning has a new look and greatly increased functionality. ChicagoLearningGuide.com is the flagship site of the Learning Guide Network. Beginning in early 2007 sites will be added in New York City (NYCLearningGuide.com), Los Angeles (LALearningGuide.com), San Francisco Bay area (SFBayLearningGuide.com) and many other cities. Subject-specific sites (YogaLearningGuide.com, MusicLearningGuide.com, DanceLearningGuide.com, etc.) are also planned for the near future. For Learners, CLG has added...

• ...to its "browsability" by adding a second level to all Subjects. Instead of just search for "Craft", Learners can now dig deeper, and browse classes by "SubSubjects", including Glass, Pottery, Wood, and more.
• ...search by Zip Code. Instead of breaking cities down by area, Zip Code search gives users a better idea of where Learning Events and Providers are located. Limit your search to within 5 miles of your home, or search the entire country (and globe) from possibilities.
• ...maps to all Learning Events and Providers.
• ...a cleaner and leaner look to make browsing and searching easier and more efficient.

  • Featured (paid) listings include expanded desciptions, priority placement, ad-free pages for profiles and Event listings, logos, photos, and more.
  • Standard (free) listings have fewer features, but what a deal!

The idea for the Learning Guide Network was born near the end of the 20th century when founder Paul Segedin got frustrated while trying to find a woodworking class in Chicago. At the time he was owner of Real Mark, a company specializing in providing marketing services to professionals in the Real Estate industry. Shortly after his aborted attempt to find his class he sold his business, found his class, and founded a website (Classearch.com) and print magazine (Chicago Learning Guide). Classearch.com later merged with ClassesUSA.com and became a portal for online learning. Chicago Learning Guide was published quarterly for more than five years and gradually gave way to ChicagoLearningGuide.com, the flagship site in the Learning Guide Network The Learning Guide Network, Inc. was incorporated in early 2006 with a mission of helping schools and private instructors to find students and students to find schools. Our directory and magazine covers recreational (art, craft, cooking, dance, music, yoga, etc.), personal (religion, personal growth, spiritual, etc.) and professional (computers, resume writing, job skills, etc.) learning activities. Learning Guide Network sites provide paid and free advertising for qualifying schools. It is our belief that learning is a lifetime activity and our directory encompasses offerings for newborns thru seniors.
